Double Reed Day
Client Work 2021-2023
These were two different design for different years of Double Reed Day for UTA's Maverick Bassoon Club. I worked alongside the club's treasurer to create sketches of what the club was looking for. Then I scanned the sketches into Adobe Illustrator where I used the pen tool and type tool to recreate the sketches. In the second design, I used the exclude front and exclude back tools so that the arms were visible among the type. In order to do this, I had to outline the type. When finished, I sent the files to the club's treasurer where they sent the images to be printed onto shirts. I worked with UTA's Maverick Bassoon Club pro bono for about 2 years where I was featured on their social media for an interview about my designs. Even though I don't work with them anymore, they reached out to me in 2024 to tell me that they loved my designs so much that they decided to continue using the characterized reeds for all of their future shirts.
Illustrator
SkillsUSA Texas Pin Design
Hollenstein Career and Technology Center 2020
This was a design I made in Adobe Illustrator for SkillsUSA while attending Hollenstein Career and Technology Center. I brainstormed different things that defined Texas. I opted for the cactus shape because I thought it would be an interesting and unique shape for a pin that would make it fun to add to anyone's pin collection. I opted for the slightly dusty, desaturated colors to give it that western vibe that many people associate Texas with. I also created four different sections inside the cactus to represent the four different quadrants of Texas. This design won state for SkillsUSA and went on to be made into an enamel pin that was handed out to all of the teachers at Hollenstein Career and Technology Center as well as a few to me to give to my family.

Family House Services Logo
Tarrant County College 2023
This was a logo I designed while attending Tarrant Couny College. The assignment was to design a logo for a random, made-up comany assigned to us. I made about 30 thumbnail sketches before I decided on this one. I then scanned it into Adobe Illustrator where I used the elipse, rectangle, pen, and type tool to create my design. To make sure all shapes fit nicely together, I used the pathfinder panel. I then changed the logo to black and white and downscaled it so that the logo could be seen on a miniature scale.
Great Green Macaw
Tarrant County College 2024
This was a graphic I created while attending Tarrant County College. The assignment was to create a realistic illustration of a macaw. I pulled together various images as references and then sketched a macaw from those images. I ended up combining three different references into one sketch to create a realistic, and unique pose that showed off the inside and outside of the macaw's feathers. I then scanned the sketch into Illustrator alongside a color palette I generated from Coolors.com. I then used the pen tool to bring the macaw to shape.
Self-Portrait
Tarrant County College 2024
This was a graphic I created while attending Tarrant County College. The assignment was to create a self-portrait that featured ourselves and various things that we liked. I started by making a list of various things that I liked and then picked one's that I felt would create an interesting composition. Editorial
Tarrant County College 2024

The article I received was about global warming and how it caused the icecaps to melt and would cause flooding. I started off by creating a list of items that I could include in the graphic and narrowed it down to a few. I then created 20 sketches where one was picked, scanned, and brought into Illustrato alongside a color palette from Coolors.com. I used the pen, rectangle, and elipse tool to create a square composition. Then I used the pathfinder panel to crop the backgroun in order to pop out the wave to give the graphic more depth.
Book Cover
Tarrant County College 2024
This was a graphic I created in Illustrator while attending Tarrant County College. The assignment was to create a cover for our family's own recipe book. Because my last name means "deck of cards," I wanted to incorporate a border paying homage to Bicycle cards. I started by creating a list of foods that my family likes to make and then picked a few that I thought would be visually compelling. I made about 20 sketches with various border, layouts, and fonts. I then scanned them into Illustrator. I kept the border a dark blue like a deck of cards which contrasted nicely and gave hierarchy to the warm toned foods. I used the pen, rectangle, and elipse tools alongside the pathfinder panel.
Photoshop
Album Cover
Tarrant County College 2022
This was a graphic I created in Photoshop while attending Tarrant Count College. The assignment was to create an album color inside of Photoshop. I scanned in a sketch I drew and brought it into Photoshop. I used image trace to create a unique texture for the outline. Then I colored the image with the brush tool. I used the type tool and a destressed font to reflect the image trace and duplicated it in green to create contrast. Lastly I did the background with the gradient and effects brushes.
Senior Recital Poster
client work 2024
This was a job I did for a senior at UTA. We went out and took photos together where he selected his favorite one. After that it was time to bring the photos into Adobe Photoshop where I edited the construction out of the background using a different photo we took and a layer mask. Then I used the patch tool, spot healing tool, and healing tool to edit the rust, paint chipping, grass, and stains from the gazebo. Lastly, I took the photo into InDesign to layout the copy.
Invisible Man
This was an edit I did in Adobe Photoshop while attending Tarrant County College's Digital Imaging classes. The assignment was to edit a person completely out of the photo making it look like there was an invisible person. I used an image of a hoodie and a visor similar to the original to create the back of the hoodie and the ear hooks to the shades. I used the layer mask to edit out all of the man's skin. Then I put a layer of the hoodie underneath to give the inside of the hoodie some texture and stiching to make the edit look realistic. Then I did the same to add the back of the shades. Lastly, I used the patch, spot healing, and healing tools to replace the areas where the hands were.
InDesign
Dustjacket Cover
Tarrant County College 2025
This design was made in Adobe InDesign while attending Tarrant County College's Digital Publishing classes. The assignment was to create a dust jacket cover for a paperback book of Lewis Carroll's Alice's Adventures in Wonderland. I started by sketching out layout designs on paper then brought in the best one into Adobe Illustrator to create the background graphic. When the background graphic was finished, I went into Adobe InDesign to create a multi page spread and placed the graphic onto the second and fourth panels for the back and front of the dust jacket. I then placed all of the desired copywrite into it's desired position. Ensuring to safe space forthe QR code that was also created in Indesign and the EPS-barcode. I also design a logo for our made up publishin house, Rabbit Hole Publishing. Lastly I inserted images of myself and the author using effects to create a duotone on my own photo to create unity between my own and the author's photo.
Lady Grey Tea Packaging
Tarrant County College 2025
This design was made in Adobe InDesign while attending Tarrant County College's Digital Publishing classes. The assignment was to design and mockup a tea box for print. First we created the tea logo that is featured in the pattern on the inside of the box and the varnish on top of the exterior of the box. After the logo was created and the patterns were set, it was time to do the typesetting and finalize the design. The exterior box has partial bleed around the dieline with the exceptions being the tabs to allow for adhesive strips to stick. The slug area shows where the box will fold and where perforations are needed. The interior print is full bleed.
Magazine Cover
Tarrant County College 2025
This design was made in Adobe InDesign while attending Tarrant County College's Digital Publishing classes. The assignment was to create an new edition for a magazine. I chose an older edition of National Geographic to recreate. I started by measuring the size of the cover and the size and leading of the fonts. Afer writing those notes down for the masthead, cover line, and kickers, I then brought the picture of the original edition into Indesign to recreate the masthead. I then found an image on pexels.com and made a compound clipping path using the pen tool and paste into feature. The print turned out to be a 5/0 one-sided full bleed print. The fifth color being the TOYO94 color for the margins. After replicating the original as close to the original, I changed the copywrite to reflect a new edition that reflects the image I mage a clipping path of. Because the original design didn't have a bar code, I created one and placed it where ther was too much white space.
Museum Business Design
Tarrant County College 2025
This design was made in Adobe InDesign while attending Tarrant County College's Digital Publishing classes. The assignment was to create a series of a nametag, ticket, and postcard for a museum we were assigned and data merge them for a series of members. I was assigned the Louvre in Paris, France. I used an image of their greek statues in their Denon Wing. I designed all of the items with the largest names, member levels, and addresses to ensure that all of the data in the data merge would fit into the text boxes. I used a series of effects, clipping paths, and layers to create the background image. The logo was recreated in Adobe Illustrator. The postcard backside was created in accordance with UPS postcard guidelines to allow for a postage stamp to be applied and space at the bottom for additional postage information. All designs share unity by use of the same fonts, images, colors, and focal point.
Animation
Beginning Animation
Tarrant County College 2022
This was a video I created in Adobe After Effects while attending Tarrant County College's Digital Media class. I started off by creating a timeline of how I wanted the animation to go. Then I created various drawings that I would manipulate in After Effects. I scanned the images into Photoshop and image traced them. Then I brought the images into After Effects. I used one drawing as the background alongside an elipse with a gradient to create the transformation from day to night. I then added in the figures which I had grow, shrink, stretch, shear, and fade to create the illusion of moving in and out of frame. I also stretched the shadows to make the shift of time more obvious. Lastly, I recorded audio over the video.
